I'm learning to adjust my riding style to make the bike a little more comfortable (some of that is, undoubtedly, getting comfortable riding again after thirteen years off-- I'm getting to know the bike and learning to relax). There's a specialty Harley shop in town that does custom metal fabrication. I plan to with them about a stretched-out highway bar. I'm not quite ready to go as far as frame mods right now (but maybe down the road... hmmmm. Still want to find a kit to stiffen up the forks a little.)

Hey, did you know those vinyl repair kits *really* work? Did an *almost* invisible repair in the sissy pad tonight. If only the black color compound had been *truly* black. But I found a little mini-backpack at Wal-Mart for eight bucks that makes a *perfect* sissy bag-- just cut the excess off the straps. Almost looks custom-made for the bike.

Philosophical question- why the hell doesn't the local Suzuki dealership stock parts like the header pipe gasket and the oil-filter O-rings? Jeez... seems like a no-brainer.

I've gotta go out of town for work for three days on Sunday. Taking the new toy isn't an option. Damn. But when I get back, the Supertrapp (and other parts) oughta be in. I can almost feel another annual leave day coming on.

Last night my kids went to a local drag strip with a neighbor who races stock. They have "open track" on Thursday nights-- cars and bikes. Once I get the Supertrapp on and the carb tweaked, what can I turn in a quarter mile? (NEVER raced before, but what the hell, eh?)

And Jim's the only one who's answered my oil question so far, so I guess I'll go with a 20/50 cycle oil...

Cheers, and KSRTD.

John
